Pakistan’s exports to the United States during October and November 2020 stood at $430 million and $437 million respectively, revealed Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.
“This is the first time our exports to the US have crossed the $400 million mark in a month,” the adviser said on his official Twitter account. Dawood remarked that it was a great achievement by the exporters and said, “I encourage them to market their exports to the US aggressively to capture a greater share in the market.”
He acknowledged that Al-Karam Textile Mills had signed a six-year licence with Gap Inc for home textile supply to North America, including Mexico. Al-Karam was the first home textile company of Pakistan to have entered into the brand licensing space in the international market, the adviser said.
Dawood stated that it would go a long way towards its integration into the global value chain. “I urge exporters to make such efforts for integration into the global value chain, which is one of the main areas of focus in the forthcoming Strategic Trade Policy Framework (STPF).”
