Arrangements are in final stages for the provision of telephone, internet and cable services under the triple bundle in Gilgit-Baltistan, said Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque. During a meeting with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, Haque said, “Under the prime minister’s vision of a digital Pakistan, broadband services will be provided across the country.” He assured that work is underway for the provision of 4G services in the province. The minister inquired about the important tourist points in the northern areas to install broadband services there to facilitate tourists and for the promotion of tourism. Furthermore, he apprised the chief minister that work is underway on the project for upgrading 2G towers for providing 4G services on the Karakoram Highway and its surrounding areas.
